Both the city of Raleigh and the Town of Cary have solar projects in the works. The town of Cary just announced the approval of a 2.3 megawatt solar project to install solar panels on the town water reclamation facility and the town hall parking deck that will generate the equivalent power capable of supplying over 200 homes. This project is expected to be fully operational by next near and will feed excess energy into the power grid.
