Paso Robles community activist, Joe Quiroz, passes away at age 64

Joe Quiroz passed away Monday at the age of 64.

The Navy veteran served for years on the Paso Robles School Board and was an active member of the American Red Cross. Quiroz also worked with the Paso Robles Police Department on the Youth Task Force and consulted with officers to combat gang violence.

Quiroz suffered a stroke about one year ago, and struggled to regain his health.

The public is invited to remember Quiroz at a memorial service at St. Rose Church in Paso Robles on November 16th. A time has not been set for that yet. A reception with the Naval Honor Guard will follow at the San Miguel Mission Hall in San Miguel.
