March 18th, 2012
Prostate cancer surgery is better known as radical prostatectomy, which is an operation mostly done on men who have been diagnosed with such.? Physicians are noted to use the surgery only when there is the high likelihood the patient will be cured from the sated disease.? Most of the patients often operated upon are those capable of handling it.? Stage A and B as well as the early phases of the Stage C cancer can have the surgery.?
Medically, the Prostate cancer surgery is done by removing the entire prostate and the seminal vesicles.? The latter part is that organ that creates the seminal fluid and is often found connected to the prostate.? Typically, the treatment or operation will last for as short as two hours to as long as four hours.? Some doctors prefer to have the Prostate cancer surgery through the use of the laparoscope.? However, a negative side to this operation is that it lasts longer than the basic procedure.?
The biggest advantage to undergoing the Prostate cancer surgery is that it removes the cancer from the body.? While there is no complete assurance to the removal of such, the fact is that it gives the patient hope for survival.? Impotence has been noted in many patients that have passed the stated surgery.? While this is noted, the long-term benefits of having survived cancer often overtake such disadvantages.
