CCA Global Partners is currently searching for a Director, Travel and Conventions in our Manchester, NH location.? This position is responsible for researching, investigating, negotiating and selecting sites for member meetings/conventions and incentive travel; organizing and overseeing such meetings and travel; developing plans with senior management and implementing those plans; developing and meeting budgets both within the department and for other user-departments; managing Meeting Services department.?? Specific responsibilities include:
?
Develop long-range convention and travel concepts and strategies that meet the needs of the Company and its members.? Involves planning horizon of 2-5 years.? Once senior management has approved concept, move to development of detailed plans and budgets, then to implementation and execution.
?
Responsible for development of budget for own department and for meeting that budget.
?
Dotted line responsibility for development of meeting, convention and travel budgets for user-departments, and for assisting with meeting those budgets.
?
Develop external supplier relationships that meet the company?s short and long-term needs, are cost effective, and are uniform and consistent in service.? Negotiate contracts.
?
Manage vendors and their staffs, on site and during prep timeframes.
?
Set, balance, and manage expectations of internal user-departments, members, and vendors.? Seek innovative solutions to meet their business needs.?
?
Meet expectations of company?s merchandise vendors, who often fund certain meetings and travel, and have specific requirements attached to that funding.
?
Assist senior executives with corporate projects that may be outside the specific scope of duties.
?
Provide expertise to internal users on travel, meetings, and other matters with which the department has experience.
?
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost and increase effectiveness within the department and across the company.
?
Keep staff and business unit personnel properly balanced between short-term deadlines and long-term projects and plans.
?
Requires ability to travel 70% and for up to 2 weeks in situations requiring hands-on activity and job performance.? Many trips are international.
?
Works with a wide range of member, vendor, and internal customers, who have varying demands, and travel and convention experience.? Exposure ranges from most senior management to owners of a single floor covering store.? Must satisfy all of these internal and external customers.
