Elven culture has taught us that they show much respect for the forest, but its something deeper than that. Most Elves believe in the idea that when someone dies they are returned to the forest, where they resided for eternity as a spirit. It is a polytheistic religion similar to the Irish Celtic religion. They have various gods for elements. An Elven tradition is to bury the deceased in a large pit. Family and friends then adorn the pit with many various species of flowers. Then they put a thin layer of dirt over the deceased and plant the seeds of a tree above the tomb. In the Connous Rebellion Elven Tombs were discovered when farmers pulled out tree stumps, and intertwined in the roots was the skeleton of the long dead Elf. It is supposed to represent the cycle of life. Life rising from death, and death coming from life. Although some Elves had different Ideas, this is the main religion in The Silverwood Forests.
